Our Revolution Texas showed up for the TX George Floyd Act! Last Thursday, many organizations came together to demand the Texas Legislature to pass the George Floyd Act -- limiting the use of force, requiring officers to render aid, will end qualified immunity, and more. ORTX gave its first-ever testimony to the Texas House, telling them, “we’re here to not just hold our police accountable. We’re here to hold our politicians accountable too.” Click here to sign our Justice for All petition to hold police accountable, then click here to please become a member to help us hold our politicians accountable.

As ORTX was giving our testimony, our Central Texas crew, led by Chris Vasquez and Claudia Zapata, visited a few of our favorite State Reps: Rep. Ana-Maria Ramos, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, and Rep. Gina Hinojosa. They were happy to see our volunteers, and we thanked them for standing up for working Texans all across our state. RSVP to OR CTX's upcoming local meeting this Wednesday!

Our Revolution Harris County’s very own, LaTonya Whittington, testified at the Texas House to demand the state to decriminalize cannabis. She told her powerful story of how medical cannabis healed her and saved her. “In 2013, I had brain surgery [for a debilitating nerve condition]. It’s the most painful thing in my life. It took me a year to heal, to learn how to walk, but it was cannabis that helped me...Cannabis healed me.” Now is the time to legalize.
